Fastened

Description

Fastened reimagines the common use for an everyday object, from a belt to a ring. It is wearable art: both functional and sculptural. Fastened draws attention to the mundane, yet captivating, composition of a belt. It was made through a process of annealing, forming, and soldering, using nickel sheet metal and wire. Also partially influenced by Victorian-era belt buckle jewelry, this work brings a contemporary industrial feel to a historical item.
