Inspired by Richard Powers’ novel Galatea 2.2, Pygmalion’s Heart examines the dichotomy between man and machine, evoking a feeling of humanity being supplanted by technology. While the electronic portion of the heart mimics human veins and arteries, it stands in stark contrast to the white porcelain anatomical heart, representing the essential differences between emotion and artificial intelligence.
